Simply – it’s any vehicle that can connect to the internet.
It can share internet, WiFi, and data, with the devices of passengers and services, both inside and outside the car.
How does connected mobility technology work?
It can either connect through what’s known as
- “embedded technology’ – chipsets, and antenna built into new smart cars at manufacture, or
- “tethered technology” – retro-fitted technology which can connect through to vehicles already on the road through users’ smartphones.
Above ground, it’s great to know that all can connect via WiFi and mobile data.
