QT Hotel Newcastle, nestled in the heart of the bustling city of Newcastle, is a luxury hotel with a difference. Housed in a stunning heritage-listed building, the boutique property boasts 104 meticulously designed rooms blending vintage charm with modern luxury.
When they opened in April 2022, they quickly realised that their 41 dedicated guest parking spots needed to be reserved exclusively for their esteemed guests. Ensuring that their guests had access to convenient and guaranteed parking became a top priority. However, assigning a full-time staff member to manage this was neither feasible nor cost effective.

We collaborated with the hotel to transform their parking management, installing state-of-the-art automated bollards in all 41 guest parking bays. This technology not only streamlined hotel parking management. But it also ensured that QT hotel guests enjoyed a seamless parking experience from the moment they arrived. Circle on Cavill is one of the Gold Coast’s most iconic high-rise holiday apartment buildings. Spread across 1.4 hectares, it consists of two impressive residential towers: the South Tower, with 48 levels and 279 units, and the North Tower, which spans 68 levels and houses 365 apartments. In total, Circle on Cavill offers 644 apartments—making it a bustling destination for both residents and holiday-makers. However, with only 412 parking spaces available to service the entire complex, parking becomes a premium resource, especially during the peak summer holiday season.
While some apartments are owner-occupied, during holiday season, most are rented out to holiday-makers all in need of parking. This ongoing challenge led Circle on Cavill to partner with ThatsMySpot to streamline their parking management and improve the guest experience.
With 644 apartments and only 412 parking spaces, managing the parking needs of holiday-makers at Circle on Cavill is a Herculean task. Time-consuming and stressful. The building manager faced constant stress in coordinating parking, dealing with unauthorised vehicles, and ensuring guests had easy access to their designated spots. The building manager was often forced to put up signs and chase unauthorised parkers, adding to the operational workload.
To solve these issues, the facilities manager at Circle on Cavill engaged ThatsMySpot to implement a tailored parking solution. Initially we consulted with the building and facilities management to understand their specific needs.
With their specific requirements, the best option for this site was ourremote control parking bollards—specifically, our popular TMS-APL2 model. Temporary visitors and holiday makers can access their reserved parking spot with the simple click of a remote control button. This also ensures that the parking bay remains secure when not in use. And by issuing remote controls with a security fob deposit, the facilities managers can readily make sure that guests return the remotes when they check out. For uniformity, the building pre-approved these bollards for all apartment owners.
For additional convenience, building management also approved smartphone parking bollards . And they offered this as an option for those more tech savvy owners who wanted to use a smartphone.So now the building purchases in bulk to have a uniform look and feel across the entire building as new owners buy into the building and want the option of parking security.
